Energy 2030 Starts Now: A Look Back at the UtilityCloud Conference 2025

The annual UtilityCloud Conference once again brought together leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from the energy retail sector across the Nordics and Europe. Held on 13–14 October 2025 at The Hub in Oslo, this year’s edition, Energy 2030 Starts Now, focused on how utilities can succeed in a rapidly changing landscape.

With 110 participants from Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Luxembourg, Italy, England, and New Zealand, the event reflected UtilityCloud’s growing international reach. As the company expands beyond Norway into the wider Nordic, Baltic, and European markets, this year’s conference was held in English, marking an important step in that direction.

Inspiring voices and engaging discussions

The programme opened with Bente Sollid, Chair of UtilityCloud and a serial tech entrepreneur, exploring 'Two Shifts That Change Everything: The Green and the Digital'. Her talk set the tone for the two days, reflecting on how sustainability and digitalisation are reshaping the energy sector, and what it means for companies preparing for the next decade.

Per Christian Honningsvaag, Regional Business Leader at Microsoft, followed with How AI Agents Will Reshape the Energy Retail Industry, sharing practical perspectives on how AI can transform customer experience and operational efficiency. Simon Court, TEDx speaker and leadership expert from London, invited participants to reflect on leadership and transformation in times of change. Kristjan Kuhi, a Member of the Management Board at Eesti Energia, offered insights from the Baltic market in his session, "Building Resilient Retail in Volatile Markets."

Collaboration for a stronger energy future

Participants joined breakout sessions covering topics such as AI in energy, Norwegian price regulations, time-to-market strategies, and multi-play business models. The sessions encouraged open dialogue and sharing of experiences across markets.

UtilityCloud’s partners: Elekt, Ropo, eMabler, Factor, PostNord Strålfors, and Orbyt were also an important part of the conference, presenting their solutions and perspectives on industry developments.

Moments that matter

Beyond the sessions, the conference created space for genuine connection. The dinner on Monday evening was a highlight, with great food, live music, and good conversations that carried long after the official programme ended. It was a reminder that collaboration often begins in simple, human moments.

Looking ahead

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing it as the best UtilityCloud conference so far. Some even suggested organising it more than once a year. For now, we’ll continue to make it an annual tradition—one that brings together the UtilityCloud community to learn, exchange, and shape the future of energy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. We look forward to seeing you again next autumn for new insights, new connections, and the same shared purpose: to move the energy industry forward.
