UtilityCloud announces leadership transition to support next phase of Nordic growth

Today UtilityCloud announced that Torbjørn Hompland will transition from CEO to the role of Working Chairman, while Pål Njølstad will take over as CEO. The change reflects a natural next step for the company as it continues to grow and prepares for further expansion across the Nordics.

Torbjørn, who has led UtilityCloud since its founding, will now focus fully on customers, product, and strategic direction. As Working Chairman, he will work closely with key accounts, particularly in Norway, to ensure the company continues to deliver on its relentless commitment to customer success.

“Customers have always been at the center of what we do. In this role, I will spend even more time with them and with the product, making sure we continue to deliver business value to our customers every day,” said Torbjørn.

Pål brings extensive experience from scaling high-growth companies and will focus on strengthening go-to-market, operational excellence, and accelerating expansion across Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.

“UtilityCloud has already demonstrated that it can deliver game-changing operational improvements for energy retailers. Customers like Skandia Greenpower have reduced IT system costs by close to 80% and personnel costs by 70% after implementing the platform. My focus will be to scale this success across the Nordics and accelerate the company’s next phase of growth,” said Pål.

UtilityCloud has seen solid growth, reaching 45 million NOK in revenue, while increasingly helping energy retailers across the Nordics grow 15x faster than the market while building more scalable, efficient, and competitive businesses.
